Disney Destiny Updates: Latest News from the Heroes and Villains Ship

Disney Cruise Line's newest vessel, the Disney Destiny, is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 20, 2025.

Disney Cruise Line's newest vessel, the Disney Destiny, is set to embark on its maiden voyage from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on November 20, 2025.

Construction of the Disney Destiny has been progressing steadily at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany.

In March 2025, the ship achieved a significant milestone known as "float up," where the dry dock was flooded, allowing the vessel to float for the first time.

This process enables the team to begin testing various onboard systems, including the main engines.

Following this, the ship will undergo sea trials to ensure all systems are operational before its transatlantic journey to Florida.

The Disney Destiny is themed around the dynamic interplay of heroes and villains from beloved Disney stories.

Guests can look forward to unique experiences such as the Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King, a restaurant designed to evoke the African savannah, complete with live performances of iconic songs like "Circle of Life" and "Hakuna Matata."

Another highlight is De Vil's, a piano lounge inspired by the infamous Cruella de Vil, featuring decor that reflects her bold fashion sense.

Entertainment aboard the ship includes a Broadway-style stage show, Disney Hercules, offering a fresh take on the classic tale with high-energy musical numbers.

Additionally, the ship's atrium will showcase a striking statue of Black Panther, symbolizing the heroic theme that runs throughout the vessel.

Staterooms on the Disney Destiny are designed with custom artwork depicting the epic journeys of famous Disney legends such as Hercules, Mulan, and Merida.

For those seeking a more luxurious experience, the ship offers Incredisuites themed to The Incredibles and the Destiny Tower Suite inspired by Tony Stark.

Bookings for the inaugural season opened to the general public on September 12, 2024, with tiered booking opportunities for Castaway Club Members and Disney Vacation Club Members.

The initial itineraries include 4- and 5-night cruises to The Bahamas and the Western Caribbean, featuring stops at Disney's private islands, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay.

As the Disney Destiny prepares for its debut, anticipation is building for the unique blend of magic and mischief that awaits guests aboard this heroes and villains-themed ship.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the launch date.
